Homework 9/19/13
1. Mom, do you think we will be seeing Uncle Rick, Aunt Sissy, or Nana and Papa?
2. I like to shop at ether Justice or Old Navy.
I like to shop at either Justice, or if I'm in the Mall of Georgia I prefer Old Navy. (The directions asked for a compound sentence.)
3. We read the Christmas story on a beautiful, bright Christmas morning.
4. The Senate, House of Representatives, and The President all have a big and important jobs. (The directions ask for a compound verb.)
The Senate, House of Representatives, and the President all have big, important jobs and are committed to serving the citizens.
5. Sandy, watch out; that big, tall boy with the Nike shirt on is about to run over you!
Technically this is okay, Becca, but it's better to use the exclamation point directly after the initial exclamatory remark (the shout, Watch out!). Then, start the next sentence. So it would look like this: Sandy, watch out! That big, tall boy with the Nike shirt on is about to run over you!

Dear Becca,
Thanks for posting this assignment here like I asked. You did a great job. I like the creative, original sentences you wrote! I indicated corrections below some of them. Ask yourself, "Do I understand this correction?" If the answer is "no," ask your mom to help you understand or ask me when you come to class. Of course, you can always e-mail me, if you want. ; )
See you Thursday!
